DADWEED

dadweed is hitting the acoustic music scene by storm. Based in Portland, OR, the trio is reimagining pickin' and thumpin' by blending elements of jazz/folk/pop/R&B within a traditional bluegrass lens. Their sets explore a wide variety of styles and dynamics – with a focus on improvisation – showcasing both tastefully crafted covers and catchy originals.
Keenan, Clayton and Ian each bring a special magic to the band, from high energy improvisation to that high lonesome vocal and hilarious banter. Leaning heavily into three-part vocal harmonies and virtuosic instrumentation, dadweed strives to redefine what's possible in bluegrass.
The trio played heavily throughout 2024, appearing at festivals, venues, and private events. Their first year as a band found them playing for a foot stompin’ crowd at the coveted Oregon Country Fair’s main stage which led to them to being named one of Willamette Weekly’s best new bands of 2025.
Look out for new singles in 2025 as well as a full length slated for 2026. Don’t miss the chance to book this rising new band!

“A typical set is grounded in the shit kicking, upbeat, fast style that bluegrass is known for, but the band also has a soft spot for slow, heartfelt waltzes. They go major scale, minor scale, mid tempo—the full spectrum of what a blend of folk, jazz and bluegrass has to offer”
